Hook is a road junction with houses round it, and that shapes the work
The Ace of Spades is the landmark, whether anyone likes it or not: the point where the A243 Hook Road crosses and links to the A3 Portsmouth Road, with slip roads onto the A309 Kingston Bypass. Houses within a few streets of it get the same grey traffic film on glass and sills that Tolworth gets, and the front rooms need the windows doing properly at check-out. Further back, towards the Hook Centre and the streets behind Ace Parade, it drops off quickly.
There is no railway station in Hook. The nearest are Surbiton and Chessington North, and the local buses are the 71, 465, 467 and the K2 and K4. That matters for a cleaning firm in one specific way: our crews arrive by van, so Hook gets slotted into a Surbiton or Chessington run and rarely gets a morning of its own.
