Oven cleaning in Kingston upon Thames
Single oven £77, double £110, 90cm range £114. Racks and trays go in the dip tank in the van.
Dip tank on board
Racks, trays and shelves soak in a heated tank outside. Nothing gets scoured in your kitchen.
No caustic fumes
The products we use indoors are low odour, so you can stay in the flat while we work.
Insured
Doors get taken off and put back. That is worth having cover for, and we do.
Usable straight after
Everything is rinsed and dried. No burn-off cycle needed before you cook.
Why an oven is worth paying somebody else to do
Carbon does not wipe off. It has to be softened, lifted and then rinsed, and the parts that hold most of it are the ones bolted inside the door. On the majority of built-in ovens the inner door glass comes out once the hinge clips are released, which is the difference between a clean oven and an oven that looks clean until the light goes on. We take the door apart where the model allows it and say so plainly when it does not, because a few makes are sealed and forcing them cracks the panel.
Kingston kitchens fall into two rough camps. Flats above the shops around the Market Place and Clarence Street tend to have a galley kitchen with no outside wall, so the hood recirculates through a charcoal filter that has usually never been changed, and the grease ends up on the ceiling instead. Those filters are a consumable, not a cleanable part, and we will tell you the size to order. Then there are the larger Edwardian and interwar houses climbing towards Kingston Hill, where the cooker is often a 90cm range at £114 or a two-oven AGA at £143, and where the job takes most of a morning rather than an hour.
Landlords ask for the oven more than any other single item, and it turns up on the check-out report more than any other single item. If you are moving, put it on the same booking as the move-out clean and pay one call-out.

What you get out of it
Even cooking
A fan covered in carbon moves less air. Bakers notice this before anyone else does.
Less smoke
Most of the smoke from a hot oven is last month’s dinner burning off the base, not this one.
Fewer arguments at check-out
Agents photograph the oven first. A clean one shortens the conversation considerably.
The glass goes clear
Getting between the panes is the whole trick, and it is the part that makes the difference in a photograph.
Oven cleaning questions
How long does an oven clean take?
An hour to an hour and a half for a single, two to three hours for a double or a range, and half a day for a four-oven AGA that has not been touched in years.
Can I use it straight away?
Yes. Everything is rinsed and wiped dry before we leave, so there is no need to run it empty first.
Will you get between the door glass?
On most built-in ovens, yes. Some sealed models and a few AGA doors cannot be split without damage, and we will show you rather than risk it.
Do you clean self-cleaning liners?
We clean around them by hand. Caustic products destroy the catalytic or pyrolytic coating, so anything aggressive stays off those panels.
How often is sensible?
Every six to twelve months in a household that cooks daily. Roasting meat weekly puts it at the six month end.
Do you repair ovens?
No. We clean them. If we spot a perished seal, a dead bulb or a hinge on its way out, we will say so and leave it to an engineer.
